Mission Statement
Thalia Trinity Presbyterian Church is a small community church located on Thalia
Road, not far from Towne Center in Virginia Beach. Our congregation is a big,
loving family and we always want to add new family members. If you visit, you
will be so welcome - at our Worship Services, or our other smaller group meetings:
womens's, men's, youth or children's. We promise to do our best to make you feel
welcomed and loved. And, don't forget that you have unique, God given talents,
which will make our church an even better place.
Thalia Trinity Presbyterian Church is a community of believers, who come together to worship
God; grow in faith; encourage one another; and show forth the light of our Lord, Jesus Christ, to
the world.
Worship is that vital time when we come together to renew and reaffirm our relationship with
the living spirit of Jesus Christ. We honor our traditions but we also seek innovative ways to
worship together, using the diverse talents of our congregation to enrich our services. From the
young child to the wise elder, we encourage our members to lift their voices to proclaim the
love and redeeming power of Jesus Christ to the world.
We believe that the Church, as a "family" in Christ, should accept and support any person who
comes to us. We encourage, nurture and pray for one another, as we are called to do by the
life-affirming spirit of Christ.
We encourage all people to develop their God given gifts in order to serve others. We
recognize the need to develop leaders, teachers, counselors, musicians and other callings in
order to continue the ministry of Christ. In this time of accelerating change and uncertainty, we
are willing to take risks to reach people, with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
In all these things, we believe that we have been called together through love and authority of
Jesus Christ who challenges us:
Abide in me as I abide in you . . . . I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide
in me and I in them bear much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
